History
Ever since our founder Tahee Koizumi started his linen trading in 1716, we have been developing as a company loved by the society following the philosophy of “Sanpo Yoshi (A Good Deal for Everyone: Philosophy of Omi merchants who believed business is good only when it makes the seller, buyer and society happy)” for over 300 years.
With the techniques and experience accumulated over the long years, we continue to advance through grasping the trend of the times and in order to widely contribute to the society.
1716
Founder Tahee Koizumi started trading linen (inter-feudal domain trade).
1871
The founding year of modern Koizumi Group
Shinsuke Koizumi, the 6th generation head of the business, opened “Tachikiya Morinosuke Shoten” at Bingomachi in Senba, Osaka (the current location of our headquarters). “Spirit of Foundation” was established at this moment.
1943
Founding of Goko Seiki Kogyo Corporation
1946
Changed its name to “Koizumi Sangyo Corporation”
Restarted as the producer/wholesaler of appliances that used electricity as the heat source (wiring devices, electro-thermal apparatus). Later, expanded business to oil stove, oil heater, gas equipment, desk lamp and others.
1962
Hair dryer marketed and developed for household use becomes a huge hit.
1965
Started to fully engage with lighting business.
Development and sales of many highly designed lighting equipment, calling them “Interior Lighting” that offered dream and prosperity to living.
1967
Full entry into the furniture market.
Engaged with development of original product not sold at furniture stores. Launched hit products such as “Cook-Table Bansan (cooking table diner)”, which was a dining table with built-in gas cooker.
1971
Unprecedented smash hit
Launched children’s study desk “Rider Desk” which had built-in lighting with “incandescent lamp and fluorescent light” style that was easy on children’s eyes.
1976
Launched furniture-style Kotatsu (Japanese winter table which is covered by a heavy blanket and has a heat source underneath) named “Shiki no Tsudoi”, which pioneered such trend.
1982
Launched “Lighting Caravan” nationally.
1989
Establishment of “Koizumi Seiki Corporation”
Due to the organizational reformation of Koizumi Sangyo Corporation, the sales department under the main trading department and the sales department of home lighting under the main lighting business department, which mainly dealt with the home lighting equipment, separated and began its operation in April of the same year.
1997
Completion of Koizumi Seiki Building in Soka city
2000-2004
Distribution centers that cover entire Japan began their operation.
Western Japan: Nanko (2000), Eastern Japan: Saitama (2004).The company is granted approval as an AEO(Authorized Economic Operator)(2001).
2007
Business development department of Koizumi Seiki Corporation became independent and formed Alphax.Koizumi Corporation.
2012
The 1st press release of the Bijouna product line,” Este Dryer,”is launched.
2013
Birth of hair dryer “MONSTER”
This product was developed with the concept of responding to the two wishes of “dry quickly” and “dry beautifully,” and it became a hot topic in a TV commercial.
2015
Brand Renewal
Koizumi Group’s (Koizumi Sangyo and Koizumi Seiki) brand was renewed in October. Determine the new brand that matches the new age to come.
2016
300th anniversary of the founding of Koizumi Group
Establishment of an overseas subsidiary.
An overseas subsidiary, “Koizumi Seiki (Hong Kong) Limited”, was established in Hong Kong.
